Welcome to Hedgehogs!

Welcome Back!!

We hope you all had a restful half term break. We are looking forward to seeing you all on  Monday 5th November!.

Imagine floating high above the land and sea on a bed of clouds silently sweeping by on a billowing breeze. Back down to earth, let’s take a walk outside. What should we wear? Wellington boots? A sun hat? Maybe a warm coat? How do we know what the weather is like today? This half term our learning journey is ‘Splendid skies.’

I look forward to a great term and of course, any questions or concerns, please don't keep them to yourself, just come and have a chat.

Reading

Reading is a very important area of learning and we aim to help develop a love of books and reading within all of our children.

Encouraging the children to become more independent in their learning choices is a focus for us and one way that we can do this is to enable the children to change their reading books independently. They all know which books they can choose from and they are reminded each day that they are able to change their reading books as regularly as they would like. This allows them to begin to take some responsibility for their own learning but also read books of their own choosing which helps instill within them a love of reading for pleasure.

As the children are only at the early stages of this it would be helpful if you could remind them that they should change their reading book if you know that they need to. Many of the children are enjoying having this independence but reminders are always useful!

Thank you for your support in this matter.

Notices

The children will have PE on Monday and Wednesday, however I request PE kits are in school from Monday-Friday as this could change on occasions.

Forest school will happen every other Tuesday. I will remind the children to bring their forest school kit.
