We are very fortunate to have a school kitchen on site and our meals are cooked by Mrs Gibson and Mrs Hobby. School meals provide a nourishing meal, using locally sourced produce, in the middle of the day. The menus are selected to encourage a healthy, balanced diet. Children sit in 'families' with the older children taking responsiblity for serving the younger children on the table.
School lunches are paid for through our online payments system sQuid. https://portal.squidcard.com/loginportal/
Special diets and allergies
We cater for vegetarians in school and if your child's diet does not suit our menus due to any food allergies or intolerences, religious or ethical beliefs please let us know so we can make alternative arrangements.
Any allergies and intolerences must be accompanied and supported by medical documentation from the child's GP or other medical professional.
Portions and "seconds"
Some children may want bigger portions or "seconds". While we are delighted that they have a healthy appetite, the portions served in our school are measured to ensure that they are equal and that they meet the recommended daily allowances.
Our menus fully comply with food standards on nutrition and portion size. They contain at least two portions of fruit and vegetables per meal and every meal is served with vegetables and/or salad as standard. A copy of our menu is below.
Children can bring their own healthy packed lunch if they prefer.
The cost of school dinners is £2.29 per day, payable in advance through the online payment system, sQuid. Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to receive Universal Free School Meals.
The option to purchase a breaktime snack is also available. Snacks must be ordered and paid for on a Monday morning for the week. Cash should be sent into school in our yellow payment envelopes.
Our snacks are:
Crumpets - 30p
Toast - 25p
Teacakes - 60p (usually available throughout the Autumn/Winter terms)
Smoothie - 40p (usually available throughout the Summer term).
