DNA Workshop - April 2026
The Owls had a fantastic workshop all about DNA led by one of our parents!
They learned what DNA is and how DNA can be extracted and read by scientists to do many amazing things such as solve crimes, identify diseases, investigate fossils and see how animals have evolved over million of years.
They also got their hands dirty (or should that be sticky?) and extracted DNA from a strawberry!
A BIG thank you to Mrs Adams.
Road Safety - March 2026
On Tuesday, our Pupil Parliament proudly took to Top Street with their beautifully designed posters, reminding drivers passing through the village to slow down and stay safe.
It was fantastic to see so much support from the community, with plenty of waves and friendly toots of horns along the way!
Keep an eye out for them next term as they continue spreading this important message,
Book Week - March 2026
What an incredible week celebrating the magic of stories! There’s nothing quite like the joy of sharing a book. We’ve spent time throughout the week diving into new adventures together, proving that reading is always better when shared. Our classrooms were filled with so many different characters. Thank you to everyone for making such a fantastic effort!
Hedgehog's Art Day - February 2026
During our art day we explored different art techniques. This technique is called collagraphy. Collagraphy is a printing method that uses different materials to make lines, shapes and textures. To make a collagraph, you need a range of textural materials, such as bubble wrap, foil, hessian, corrugated cardboard. The textural materials are glued to a block to create a collage. This is called a collagraph block. Paint is rolled onto the collagraph block. Paper is pressed evenly and firmly onto the painted surface using a clean roller. Finally, the paper is peeled off to reveal the print.
Squirrels Forest School - February 2026
Our Squirrels had a wonderful afternoon in the great outdoors with Mr Craske. They practised their knot-tying skills to make spiderweb frames, made crab apple kebabs to attract flies and then set them up in the trees. They also used catapults in the pots and pans firing range!
Architect Day - January 2026
Our budding architects in Owls class were tasked with designing and creating a concept model for a new playground. This was thanks to RIBA's Architects Ambassadors programme - we had a visitor from RIBA and two Architecture Masters students from Nottingham Trent University to share their knowledge.
Carols & Cake - December 2025
We have a very active school choir here at All Saints, led by Mrs Nicholson, and they have been particularly busy over the festive period.
On Monday 8th December we welcomed senior local residents into the school hall for coffee, cake and Christmas carols. Katie from Planet Bake very kindly supplied 4 delicious home-baked cakes and the choir performed a selection of carols.
