Welcome Back
Hello everyone. I hope you've had a fabulous summer and I can't wait to hear about all your adventures! This term is going to be so exciting as we all get to know each other and we start work on our learning jounreys. Don't forget we are going to ROCK UK as well, which is going to be so much fun!
See you soon
Mrs Belton
Important Information
P.E.
Will take place every Monday and Wednesday afternoons . Information about indoor and outdoor P.E kit can be found on the school website.
Forest School
Forest Schools is held every other week on a Friday, you will receive more information on this in the first week back at school. Please ensure that your child is prepared with the correct kit when it is their turn for Forest Schools.
Equipment
Please bring (to keep in school) a pair of headphones for when you are using the laptops and an old tshirt for messy art lessons.
French
Every Wednesday morning, we are joined by Mr Kille who teaches us French. His lessons are lots of fun and its amazing how quickly our French skills develop.
Reading
Reading is so important in the Owls class. The more we read, the more ideas we have for our own writing. There is nothing more exciting than going on an adventure to Narnia, on the Hogwarts express or to a Place called Perfect, without actually even leaving your own house! Books open the door to lots of exciting adventures.
Please read at least 5 times a week, either to yourself or to someone at home. You need to write in your reading diary every time you read and an adult needs to sign it. If you are an avid reader (a bookworm) and always have your head in a good book, then it's ok for someone at home to sign your diary at the end of the week to say how often you have read.
Please bring your reading diary into school everyday but particularly on mondays as that is the day I check them.
If you have read a really good book, don't forget to let me know as I love reading books!
Each week, you will get chance to make your own reading scrapbook with lots of information about the wonderful books you have read.
Weekly Spellings
Hello lovely Owls! Our weekly spellings are changing this term as we try something new! We will still be doing our spelling lessons each day where we will look at a particular spelling rule or pattern but I will not be giving you a list of words to learn. Instead the spelling test on a Friday will all be surprise words from the week to see how well you can apply your spelling skills. You will know the sorts of words which might come up in the test but you won't know exactly which ones!

Maths
Maths is everywhere! When you go shopping you need to work out if you have been given the correct change or find the new price in a sale. If you want to catch a bus or train, you need to work out the time it will arrive. When you are baking, careful measuring skills are important.
We work hard on our maths in school, however lots of regular practise at home will really help you to be a successful, confident mathematician. Have a look at the links below for great websites which you can use to play games and complete activities to improve your maths skills. Have fun!
