Ladybirds – Foundation
Summer term 1
Welcome to what we hope is a hot, sunny and hard working final term of this year. We have lots of things happening including sports days, reports, information on the children's transition into year 1 and much, much more. Please keep an eye on the website and of course the school newsletter.
The children will be exploring this half terms topic of In Our Garden. We will be planning and planting our own vegetables as well as outdoor art, minibeast hunts and looking at how to look after where we live.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please come and see me and once again, a big welcome back.
Spring Term 1
Happy New Year to everyone and a warm welcome back to the spring term. An especial welcome to our three new early years children who are settling in marvelously. We have already got off to a great start having had one session of Forest School and have quickly got back into the swing of things.
I have added this terms Newsletter which highlights some of the things we we be exploring as well as this terms Learning Overview.
Look out for requests for old fashioned toys later in the term. No doubt some of them will look less old fashioned to me than others!
Again a warm welcome back and as always, should you have any questions or worries please don't keep them to yourself.
Well we survived the first half term and we are doing really well. Everyone has settled in beautifully and were definitely ready for a well earned rest over half term. Now we are back, and looking towards Christmas, however in between we will be exploring people who help us plus lots of celebrations such as Diwali, Guy Fawkes, Remembrance as well as our week leading up to Children in Need.
Don't forget the dates for your diaries such as our Christmas Fair on the 24th November and our Nativity on the 7th December. Keep looking out for other dates on the website and regular Newsletter and of course please ask about anything you're not sure of and I'll do my best to find out!
Welcome to Ladybird class
Autumn 2016 Term 1
A HUGE welcome to Ladybird class at the beginning of this new school year. Everyone has returned looking super in their new uniforms, espcially those shiny shoes! We have a busy time ahead of us in this first little term then in the run up to Christmas. (Yes you heard it here first!!) We will shortly be designing our own Christmas cards for printing through Cauliflower cards so look out for those; but before this keep looking at the diary dates for events such as Harvest, Macmillan Coffee morning, Elston's Got Talent and so much more.
Specifically related to our class we will be having P.E. on Monday and Thursday afternoons. Can you therefore have P.E. kits on these days consisting of t-shirts and shorts. We will be in doors so there will be no immediate need for plimsolls. We will also be having Forest School once a fortnight. Please see the nchool newsletter for the change of clothes your child needs or of course, come and speak to me. We have already made a great start with only a few tears!
As always please come and have a chat if there is anything you are not sure about and again,
Mrs Gane and Mrs Filer
On Wednesday 29th June at the Newark schools film awards (Fan) Ladybirds won the KS1 Narrative category for our stop frame animated re-telling of How to Catch a Star!! Not bad when we are only Foundation Stage. Super well done to all the children who helped make the pictures, record the film and put the soundtrack over the top. Also to the lucky six who came along to the awards evening and made me very proud. Super well done to everyone.
