The School Day

Morning -  8.40am – 12.15pm  (break 10.30am – 10.45am)          

Lunchtime – 12.15pm – 1.10pm

Afternoon – 1.10pm – 3.05pm

Mornings

8.30am  The head teacher will be on duty in the playground to welcome children and parents. 

Ladybird’s classroom will be open to children from this time and parents are invited into the classroom with their children but should leave by 8.40 am when the school day begins. 

8.40 am – The head teacher will blow the whistle to announce the start of the school day – all children will stop playing and walk quietly to their lines ready for their class teacher to collect them to take them into the classroom.  

8.45 am - Playground gates are locked and the school site secured.   Children arriving after this time must report to the office to be admitted into the school.  A reason should be given for lateness as they sign in.

 

Collection of children at the end of the school day

3.05pm – the first teacher outside will unlock the playground gate ready for the children to go home.

Children in Years 5& 6 will leave through the gate and go to their parents or walk home alone if we have been informed of this. The class teacher should be at the door with them as they leave in case of any issues. 

Children in Years 3 & 4 are released to their parents by staff.  Only when the staff member has seen the parent or carer will the child be allowed to leave through the gate.  The class teacher should be at the door with them as they leave in case of any issues.      

Children in FS and Year 1 and 2 are released to their parents by staff.  Only when the staff member has seen the parent or carer will the child be allowed to leave through the gate. The class teacher should be at the door with them as they leave in case of any issues.       

Children will only be allowed to leave with the people named on the collection register – they will not be released to anybody other than the people named on the collection register.

Parents collecting children from afterschool clubs will wait at the gate – the gate will be locked and staff members leading the club will be responsible for unlocking it and ensuring that children are collected by their parents.  In the winter months when the nights are dark the children must be collected by an adult.
